Marea Residences handover date: the latest position
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) register holds a completion date of 20 June 2027 for Marea, the register name for the 68 unit building by Sharafi Development on Dubai Islands. Sharafi’s own website gives Q3 2027, and its launch release of 2 June 2026 gave Q4 2027. More on the project: Marea Residences.
Progress makes the register date unlikely. The last DLD inspection, on 10 June 2026, recorded 5.33%, leaving almost the whole building to be built in about 12 months. Continental Club’s pace estimate, based on the past year of inspections, is about 0.5% a month. Construction was registered as starting on 20 July 2025, so the registered date allowed about 23 months for a 13 storey building.

What the Marea Residences handover date means for payments
Under the 40/30/30 plan described by Gulf News and OPR, 10% is paid on booking and 30% during construction. A further 30% falls due on handover, and the last 30% is paid after handover as 5% every four months over two years. On the AED 2,749,440 starting price, the handover payment is about AED 824,832 (ezre.ae).
Because a large share is tied to handover, a later completion pushes back both the handover payment and the start of the two year post-handover schedule.
What to check before relying on the Marea Residences date
- The SPA date and grace period. The register, the website and the launch release give three different quarters.
- A newer DLD inspection. The June 2026 figure of 5.33% is the latest in the register. The DLD project status service shows any later reading for project 3879.
- Which payment plan the unit was sold on. Sharafi’s June 2026 release also mentioned a 30/70 plan and a 50/50 post-handover option, which change how much is due at the keys.
