Omniyat said on 7 May 2025, when it appointed ACC Group as main contractor for Vela and Vela Viento in Marasi Bay, that Vela Viento is scheduled for handover in Q3 2027. The DLD inspection on 18 May 2026 recorded 21.81% complete. No newer inspection had been added to the register by 25 September 2026.

Progress rose by 3.78 points between the DLD inspections of 16 February and 18 May 2026, from 18.03% to 21.81%. Omniyat’s latest site update reported structural slabs up to Level 6, core walls up to Level 8, blockwork up to Level 2, facade fabrication under way and about 700 workers on site each day.

What the Vela Viento handover date means for payments
Property Finder lists 5% at launch, 55% during construction and 40% at handover. At Vela Viento’s prices, the handover share is the largest single payment: AED 11.2 million on a 2 bedroom apartment listed from AED 28 million, and AED 24.8 million on a 4 bedroom apartment listed from AED 62 million. Whether that falls in May 2027 or later in Q3 2027 depends on when Omniyat issues the completion notice.
What to check before relying on the Vela Viento date
- The completion date in the SPA. It may follow the 13 May 2027 registered date or Omniyat’s Q3 2027 target, and the grace period counts from whichever the SPA states.
- A newer DLD inspection for project 2885. The latest figure on the register is from May 2026.
- That the unit is in Vela Viento and not Vela. The two towers share a contractor and a brand but have different dates, Q3 2027 and Q2 2027.
- The unit count on the Oqood registration. The register holds 86 units, while Omniyat has published 92 and 95, so the unit reference on the Oqood record is the one that counts.
