Naia Island handover date: the latest position
Naia Island is due to open in 2029. That was the year given by the Dubai Media Office when Shamal Holding unveiled the island on 6 August 2025, and Matthews, the project management consultant, also gives completion as 2029. Property Finder lists June 2029 and Propsearch lists 2029. The plot sales, prices and the island’s plan are covered on the Naia Island page.
Work is still at the land stage. Shamal reported land reclamation 55% complete in February 2026 and 75% complete in March 2026. Van Oord, the marine contractor, is due to finish reclamation and marine works such as quay walls and culverts in the first half of 2027. No Dubai Land Department completion percentage or registered completion date has been published for the island, so the 2029 date rests on the developer’s announcement and portal estimates rather than the DLD register.

- Whether you are buying a plot or a finished residence. The 2029 date refers to the island’s opening, and Shamal has published no handover date for the plots.
- The completion date written into your sale contract, since there is no DLD registered completion date to fall back on.
