When is the DAMAC Islands 2 handover date?

DAMAC Islands 2 handover date: the latest position
DAMAC Islands 2 is registered for completion on 30 June 2030 for nine of its ten clusters, and on 31 December 2030 for Antigua 1. Construction has barely started. The most recent DLD inspection, of Antigua 1 on 16 September 2026, recorded 0.32% complete. The other nine clusters were between 0.18% and 0.33% at their last inspections in May and June 2026.

No registered date has moved since the clusters were filed. Antigua 1’s later date reflects its later registration, not a revision. DAMAC’s Antigua guide still states June 2030 for that cluster, six months earlier than the register.
What the DAMAC Islands 2 handover date means for payments
DAMAC’s Antigua guide lists 20% at booking, 55% during construction and 25% on handover, and earlier DAMAC material for the same cluster described 75% during construction and 25% on handover. Under either version, 25% falls due at handover in 2030. On a townhouse listed from AED 2.99 million, that is about AED 747,500. With construction under 1% in 2026, most of the construction instalments fall during the four years of building.
What to check before relying on the DAMAC Islands 2 date
- Which registered cluster the unit is in. Antigua 1 is filed for 31 December 2030, six months after the other nine, and Bahamas, Barbados and Tahiti are each split into two registered clusters.
- The date in the SPA against the register. For Antigua, DAMAC’s guide says June 2030 while the register says 31 December 2030.
- Whether instalments follow dates or construction stages. With nine clusters last inspected in May and June 2026, check the latest figure through DLD’s project status enquiry before each payment.
- Whether the unit is in DAMAC Islands or DAMAC Islands 2. Sub-phases of the original community, such as Bora Bora Phase 2, carry a Q4 2028 date, not 2030.
